The current Infernos Nightclub building in Clapham was originally constructed in 1914 as the Majestic Cinema, designed by renowned cinema architect John Stanley Beard. After its closure as a cinema in 1960, the building was converted into a recording studio and bingo hall, attracting famous musicians such as Brian Eno and the Sex Pistols. The venue then transformed into Cinatra's nightclub in 1985 before becoming the popular Infernos Nightclub that we know today.

In this post, we'll take a closer look at the history of Infernos nightclub in Clapham, what makes it such a South London (for better or worse) staple?
